When the twins were little we were driving down the street and I spotted a guy on a unicycle just tooling his way down the sidewalk. I yelled out to Lula — Look! Look! A guy on a UNICYCLE!!!! Her response? Eh — but is he JUGGLING?
I laughed so hard at that — it was like a unicycle wasn’t enough to impress her, the guy had to be juggling too.
So today, after watching a day’s worth of pomp and circumstance, swearing in and black coats, red hats, bow ties and speeches, we made a trip to town. On the way I noticed Bean’s big blue eyes staring out the window somewhat disappointed. “I thought everything would look DIFFERENT now” — she said.
Just wait, baby girl — I thought. Pretty soon the juggling will start . . .
I am testing a new feature that links Facebook to my blog. Let’s see if it works!
Wow was this fun! My brother Eric and I went to a club called “Herbs” here in Denver. A couple of guys in the band “Eugene Sings the Blues” were playing — I had met them last week at Blues on Blake. Well, they asked me to come up and jam! And I did! A whole set — horn players, awesome drummer, two guitar players, and Eugene who sings like a maniac! OMG!!! This was the BEST NIGHT EVER!!! Check them out here: Eugene Sings the Blues
I LOVE playing the blues — as a bass player, that is nirvana!!
Looks like no more cougar. While I am glad I can go outside again, I am kind of sad.
I get to have fun the first week in January. Look at me!
See all pretty with my hair done up and a white veil and professional makeup!
If you’ll remember, I also did this last year. You’ll also remember why I don’t give my daughter Bean the camera at these events. However I didn’t have much of a choice ’cause everyone in the show is so busy they can’t take pix and nobody came with me this time except the twins. So Bean got the camera. Again. Which is why my jaunts down the runway looked like this. Again.
So I took it upon myself to corral some people in the halls so I could at least get a picture of the beautiful gowns:
What girl doesn’t enjoy being a bride for a day? Especially with so many pretty gowns to wear!
